The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has announced the opening of applications for its 2026/2027 Postgraduate Local Scholarship Programme for Ghanaian students pursuing Master’s and PhD programmes. According to information released by GETFund, the application window will open on Monday, October 5, 2026, and close on Friday, November 27, 2026.

The scholarship programme is intended to support postgraduate studies in Ghana, with interested applicants required to submit their applications through the official GETFund Scholarship Portal. Applicants are expected to complete the online application form, provide all required information and upload scanned copies of the relevant supporting documents for vetting and shortlisting.

GETFund indicated that applicants who successfully pass the vetting and shortlisting processes will be contacted directly after the exercise has been completed. The Fund has also advised prospective applicants to visit the scholarship portal for full details on eligibility requirements, documentation and the application process before submitting their forms.

GETFund further cautioned applicants against submitting applications through unofficial channels, stressing that applications will be processed only when submitted through the official scholarship portal. It also noted that all official correspondence relating to scholarship applications will take place directly between GETFund and the applicant.

Prospective applicants can submit their applications through scholarships.getfund.gov.gh when the portal opens on October 5. The application period will remain open for nearly eight weeks, giving eligible postgraduate students until November 27 to complete and submit their applications.
